The large outdoor area supports and promotes health and wellbeing providing an exciting, challenging place for children to climb, run, investigate and imagine.
We also have our own vegetable plot where the children are taught how to plant and grow vegetables throughout the year through hands on experience, once the children
harvest the vegetables they are proudly delivered to the nursery kitchen. Where, with help from the nursery cook the children can turn them into something delicious
and nutritious to eat for their lunch.
Our nature garden off the main play areas allows the children to quietly observe and explore the wildlife in and around our gardens, while teaching them the importance
of our wild animals and insects. With bird/bee houses, butterfly lodges, a frogitat and a comfy hedgehog house they have plenty to keep them busy.
Pets are growing in numbers too, at last count we have a couple of giant land snails, two very lovely rabbits, a school of fish and are awaiting the arrival of two
ducks and some cheeky guinea pigs! This enables the children to learn how to learn and care for living creatures and understand their basic needs.
Our safe guarding policy is written in accordance with The East Riding Safeguarding Childrens Board.
At Turnbridge Day Nursery keeping children safe is paramount and follow upto date procedures to ensure all our children are not at risk of harm. We believe it is
everybody's duty to safeguard children.
